Competition in Maribor September 26

On Saturday 26 September Maribor Kennel Club will be hosting Slovenia's first national dogfrisbee competition with international participation. The event begins at 9 a.m.

Head judge will be Jean McCollister, assistant judges will be Aleš Colja, Tamara Gregorčič, Nadja Žlender, Urša Lukančič, Veronika Urbaskova, Marketa Urbaskova, Lucka Schonova, Pavel Ryttnauer, and others.

The following events and categories will be offered:

• Freestyle (USDDN rules) (entry fee 10€)
  
• Young Dogs (10 - 18 months)
  
• Starters
• Open

The freestyle round will last 90 seconds for Young Dogs and Starters, and 2 minutes for Open.

• Minidistance (USDDN rules but without the central bonus zone) (entry fee 5€)
  
• Time Trial (Skyhoundz) (entry fee 5€)
  

Competitors entered in both freestyle and minidistance events will do two rounds of minidistance total; the first one will count both towards the final freestyle score and the final minidistance score.

Time trial (two rounds) will be held on a separate field on a walk-up basis. Competitors report to the judges there and do their round when they are ready.

In addition to these events, there will be a special event, Quadruped without dogs, at the conclusion of the competition to raise money for the Horjul Animal Shelter. Competitors pay 1€ to make three longdistance throws. The top three finishers will receive a symbolic prize. All proceeds will go to the animal shelter.
